Sweet Treats & Candy in the Cumberland Valley
If you are looking for a special Valentine’s Day gift or if you just have a sweet tooth, there are plenty of places for sweet treats and candy in the Cumberland Valley.
My favorite location is Georgie Lou’s in Carlisle. They offer more than 475 different varieties of candy – including favorites from your childhood such as Charleston Chews, Lemonheads, Pop Rocks and Sky Bars. Bulk candy, hard candy, candy bars, gummies, and chocolate… this stores meets every craving. To top it off, they also offer a unique selection of retro gifts.
Another unique store for the candy connoisseur is Brittle Bark in Mechanicsburg. Their famous “Brittle Bark” is made fresh daily. You can also find an ever-changing variety of chocolate covered pretzels, cookies, fresh-dipped chocolate-covered fruit and potato chips, and handmade chocolates. You never know what yummy goody to expect when you enter the store.
The Virginia Nut Shop in New Cumberland offers premium roasted nuts and hand-dipped chocolate. Nuts and chocolate… need I say more??
Candy not your thing? Be sure to stop by one of our many bakeries to taste tempting treats such as cookies, cakes, pastries, pies, brownies, tortes and more. Two of my favorite locations: Pennsylvania Bakery in Camp Hill and The Carlisle Bakery.
Looking for a little bit of Europe right here in the Cumberland Valley? Try Helena’s Chocolate CafĂ© and Creperie featuring French-style crepes and French macarons, Italian-style beverages and seasonal Italian gelato, plus handmade chocolates in the Belgian tradition. Want to warm up? Try the sinfully delicious homemade hot chocolate!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Stacey for the swell recommendation for our little shop. Georgie Lou's is also our favorite sweet spot in Cumberland Valley, but of course, we may be an itsy bitsy bit jealous!
ReplyDeleteDon't forget Betsy's Bakery in Camp Hill if you want gluten-free or vegan treats. You can pick up Lemon Tree cupcakes at the Hard Bean Cafe in Camp Hill too!
ReplyDeleteAlso, delicious is Bamboo Frozen Yogurt in Mechanicsburg. They have lots of sweet treats to top off some yummy yogurt. You can also buy frozen yogurt three-layer pies for under $13.
